Vectored space and precedence study
Learning outcomes:-
- Gain a through understanding of a well known architect and a chosen of there building in context.
- Learn the meaning of "precedent" and will engage in precedence study through research. analysis and documentation.
- To be able to use Photoshop and CAD software.
- Final piece to be presented on a A1 panel
- assessed by accuracy and consistency of information.
Research
A weekly recording of research, drawings, pictures and models, including feedback relating to all drawings. Through the blog we will develop critical thinking skills looking at architectural ideas and culture from historical contexts.
what we also need to think about while doing our research is to focus more on:-
- Who the architect is ?
- The purpose of the building
- The history and current status of the building
- The building location
- The spaces within the building
- The materiality
- The lighting and spatial qualities within the building
- The concept
Part 1:
which will be assessed in a interim review on 10th october 2014 which we will need to present
- Orthographic drawings in ink
- Blogs which will be ongoing
- Research to date
Each group will produce the following set of hand drawn orthographic drawings of the building in context. we will use Vector works files provided to print off the drawings at scale. These drawings will help us and give us a base structure to contrast the necessary graphics.
for the submission we will need A4 documents and on our blogs, both AutoCAD and Orthographic hand drawings.

- Final A1 Panel ( in photoshop showing all orthographic drawings produced together with any other relevant information.

- A4 document - including research,hand drawings, printed CAD Drawings.
